Wayne “Ted” E. Offley, age 88, of Woodland passed away on April 22, 2017 at Magnum Care, where he received excellent care, in Hastings, MI.  Ted was born on March 26, 1929 at the family farm in Woodland, MI to Wayne T. and Ella (Wood) Offley.  After graduating from Woodland High School, where he was a basketball legend, Ted proudly served his country in the Korean War.  In 1953, he married Janet A. Burroughs and she preceded him in death in 1988. In 1989 he married Joyce Kelly and they spent many happy years together.  Ted was a lifelong farmer and worked for GM for 39 years.  When not working or farming Ted enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, gardening, playing softball, camping and model trains.  Family gatherings always brought him great joy.  He was also a diehard Lions football fan. Ted will be dearly missed by; wife Joyce; children Nancy (Bob Donovan) Parker, Sue Pepper and Bob (Donna) Offley; step children; Colleen (Jim) Lomanco, Doreen (Don) Johnson, David (Wendy) DeWesse, Joann DeWesse, Lisa (Pat) Murphy; brother Ron (Mary Ellen) Offley; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Preceding him in death are; wife Janet; daughter Mary Beth Dickinson; son-in-law Rod Pepper; grandson Greg Stowell; siblings Jean VanHusen and Elaine Palmatier; step sons Steve and Mark DeWesse.  Visitation for Ted will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 2pm until 4pm and 6pm until 8pm at Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa, MI.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11am at Koops Funeral Chapel with burial taking place at 3:30pm at Lakeview Cemetery in Nashville, MI.  Memorial contributions can be given to Manna’s Market.   Online condolences can be given at www.koopsfc.com
