Debra Stoner

June 10, 1956 ~ March 10, 2018 (age 61)

Debra Stoner, of Lake Odessa, MI, fondly referred to by many as “The Deb,” passed away on Saturday, March 10th, 2018, 3 months shy exactly of her 62nd birthday. To say that she was lost too soon is an extreme understatement. Deb is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Donald Stoner, her two sons Nate and Shawn & daughter-in-law Lauren, her brother Donald Anderson & sister-in-law Mary Beth, her many nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, and her sweet dog Fifty Cent. Deb was a pillar of selflessness. She graduated from MSU with honors and devoted her life to social work. She gave everything and asked for nothing. Her compassion, incomparable. Without ever raising her voice, she gracefully raised her 2 sons, alongside her doting husband Don, and was an empathetic surrogate mother to dozens of wayward children. Her death from aggressive cancer was sudden, unexpected, and if any rules apply to the universe: unjust. She was an angel among us, and we were truly blessed to have her as long as we did. If you were lucky enough to have known her, your life was changed for the better. Ask anyone who did. Her Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 17th, 2018 at Bertha Brock Park Hunting & Fishing Lodge (2311 Bluewater Hwy, Ionia, MI 48846) from 12pm-4pm. Eulogies begin at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, in this sudden time of need, the family would appreciate contributions to help with expenses. Because that’s the kind of person she was. She lives on in all of us
