Doris Lambert, 93, went to live with Jesus on Thursday, December 6, 2018. Born March 15, 1925 she was the child of Harold J. and Mary E. (Hess) Calcott. She graduated from J. W. Sexton High School in Lansing class of 1943. She married (Lewis) Jack Lambert on Dec. 9, 1944 and they were married more than 53 years, until his death in 1998. Doris had a kind, caring and generous soul. Her love for people was always apparent, as she was genuinely curious to know everyone she met along the way. She loved to visit, laugh and sing, but more than anything, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus the Messiah. Her fervent prayer was that everyone she loved would also believe in Him.
She and Jack were blessed with a large family. She will be dearly missed by their children: Rob (Jane) Lambert of Saranac; Anita (Art) Villanueva of Lake Odessa, Lori Lambert of Lansing, Tina (Ed) Cox of Radford, VA, Martha (Jonathan) Katz of Severna Park, MD, and honorary son Kurt (Jean) Guild of Clarksville, our gratitude also extends to Jerry Voyer, eldest daughter Stephanie's fiance for remaining a close family friend, brother John (Diana) Calcott, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Preceding Doris in death are: husband Jack, children Stephanie and Jeffrey Lambert, siblings; Howard Calcott, Marilyn West and Lois Calcott.
A memorial service will be held Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa, Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11am with a gathering afterwards at the Sunfield United Methodist Church (Doris church home) from noon until 3pm.
