Gerald L. Seese, 91, of Clarksville passed away on November 2, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 26, 1928 in Alto, MI.
Gerald was a long-time resident of Clarksville where he started the Seese Well Drilling business in 1967. After he retired, he was able to spend more time restoring tractors and building a half-scale steam engine and sawmill. This love of steam and old tractors provided the opportunity for family, friends and neighbors to get together and show off their tractors and steam engines. This hobby allowed him to pass on his knowledge of antique equipment to his grandkids and the younger generations. These neighborhood gatherings were the beginning of the Clarksville Steam and Gas show of which Gerald was one of the founding members. It was first held in the side yard at his home in August 1978, moved to a couple of different locations and ended at its current location in August 1989.
Gerald is survived by Shirley his wife of 68 years; his children Sue ( Gordon) Johncock, Tim (Kim) Seese, Ron (Tina) Seese, and Kristi (Chuck) Benedict; grandchildren Traci ( Trevor) Burnsed, Valerie (Rod) Sundberg, Kathy (Darrin) Card, Tyrel Seese, Tucker (Gabby) Seese, Levi Seese, Kaitlin (Ryan) Holley, Dustin Benedict, Danielle Benedict; six great-grandchildren; two sisters Mary Roush and Nancy Sauers.
