Josephine G. Salazar, 82, of Lake Odessa passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Josephine was born on May 1, 1937 to Felix and Josefa (Navajar) Galaviz in Dallas, Texas. On October 8th, 1982 she married Margarito Salazar and he survives. Josephine never failed to remember a special event and made sure you got a card suited especially for you. She was very skilled at sewing, needle point, and crocheting. Family and friends will never forget her famous Moon cakes she made.
Josephine will be lovingly remembered by; husband Margarito, children; Sam Olivo, Steven Olivo, Margarito Jr., Nancy (Jorge) Hernandez, Lori (Tomas) Martinez, Tracy (Filiberto) Solis, grandchildren Joseph and Corey Olivo,11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren,2 great-great grandchildren; siblings Angelita (Sal) Lopez, Juanita (Ron) Richmond; in-laws; Leocadia (Mario) Salazar, Bacilio (Ingaborg) Salazar, Johnny Salazar, Felice (Fred) Vasquez, Qurinio (Lupe) Salazar, Pablo Salazar, Sofia (Sal) Rodriguez, Marcos Salazar, Bruna Salazar, Romana ( Raul) Aguilar, Barney Salazar, Adelina (Larry) Shaneck, Gregloria (Roy) Valdez, Kate Salazar and Irma Galaviz along with lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her parents Felix and Josefa, first husband Juaquin Olivo, children Daniel and Suzane Olivo, siblings; Eligio (Rebecca), Filomeno, Valentine “Wally” (Bonnie) Galaviz, in-laws; Domingo, Norma and Linda Salazar
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 10am until 12noon at the Kilpatrick UB Church, 10005 E. Barnum Road, Woodland MI, 48897. Funeral services will start at 12 noon at the Kilpatrick UB Church with burial taking place immediately following at Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa.
