Joyce Claire McLeod, age 86, of Spring Lake, Michigan went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 13, 2019. Joyce was born to Lyle and Edith Ketchum on June 27, 1933 in Parma, MI. She grew up in Holt and moved with her family to Lake Odessa when she was a teenager, where she ended up raising her own family. She worked many years as a secretary in Lansing for Niagara Cyclo Massage and also for The Tobacco Institute. Joyce retired from St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.
Joyce will be lovingly missed by her children, Max Jr. (Kaye) McLeod, Jodi (Jim) Farman, Mike (Deb) McLeod, and Julie (Chuck) Peckham; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Lenora Adcock; nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Barry McLeod; her parents Lyle and Edith Ketchum; brother and sister-in-law Lyle (Beverly) Ketchum, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Phil Adcock.
Joyce was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her joy was being with her family. She will be remembered as a witty and feisty person, yet very fun-loving and compassionate.
A private family graveside service will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa in September.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Joyce to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans.
