Kenneth D. Makley, 77, of Woodland passed away unexpectedly at his home in Woodland on Sunday, August 18, 2019. Ken was born on November 12, 1941 to Von and Marleah (Barnum) Makley in Barry County. On August 17, 1964 he married Mary Baitinger at Zion Lutheran Church in Woodland. They recently celebrated 55 years of marriage. Ken was a very faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church. For 36 years he worked at Consumers Energy starting out as a tree trimmer and ending his career as a heavy equipment mechanic. Ken was known for his ability to fix anything. He loved to golf, bowl, hunt, and to take his 1972 Olds 442 to car shows.
He will be dearly missed by: his wife Mary, children Jon (April) and Jason (Michele) Makley, 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brother David (Margy) Makley, in-laws Michael Baitinger and Buffy (Duane) Meyers, along many nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, son Christopher, daughter Tammy McLaughlin, in-laws Vernon and Phyllis Baitinger, and nephew Daryl Makley.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 11am at Zion Lutheran Church with burial taking place in Woodland Cemetery.
