Dean Harold Dennie, 59, of Lake Odessa, passed away unexpectedly on December 16, 2019 at his home in Lake Odessa, MI.
He was born on February 24, 1960 in Ionia, MI. The son of Harold and Joyce (Newman) Dennie. He graduated from Lakewood High School and worked for several years in the plastic fabrication industry. Dean enjoyed fishing and camping. There was not a day that you wouldn't find him without a Sudoku puzzle on his lap. Dean spent the last several years volunteering at the Barry County Commission on Aging meal site, located in Woodland, MI. It was something special he enjoyed doing alongside his mother, three times a week. He also spent every Thursday afternoon at his father’s house "throwing dice".
Dean was preceded in death by his step mother, Ada Dennie; his sister Deborah Needham; Brothers, David and Dale Dennie; Nephew, "Bob" Dylan Dennie and a very special long-time love "Margaret" Lori Tobey. Dean is survived by his children; Eric Dickerson of Lansing, Ashley Dennie of Ionia, Jessica (Travis) Doty of Belding, and Shauna Dennie of Greenville, Seven grandchildren; Mason, Wesley, Landon, Levi, Bailee, Travis Jr and Coltyn, Parents Harold and Joyce Dennie, Brothers; Douglas Needham and Don (Mary) Dennie, Several nieces and nephews, Step-Children; Craig Tobey and Shannon Keeney, and special friend (mother of his children), Julie Thomas.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 11, 2020, 12:00pm at Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa, MI followed by a luncheon visitation at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Woodland, MI.
