Nadine Louise Speas of Woodland, age 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior, April, 25, 2020 from Fairview Adult Foster Care in Grand Ledge where she resided for 4 months. She was born April 21,1932 in Lake Odessa to Viverne and Frances (Hall) Cook. She graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1950. Nadine was married to George Speas on April 30, 1955 at Sebewa Baptist Church. They served together in churches for many years. Most of their ministry was in the Kilpatrick United Brethren Church. She worked for Lakewood Public Schools for 24years until her retirement in 2002. After retirement she spent time with her grandchildren and enjoyed working in her yard and was one who really enjoyed her life at home. She will be remembered for her sense of humor (sometimes sarcastic), fiesty spirit, and strong faith in the Lord that proved to be an inspiration to her family and friends . Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jerald (Jake) Cook, brothers in law Larry Lepard, Paul Speas and sister in law Shirley Faith (Speas) Wilson. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, George Speas: Children, Karen (Mark) Rogers of Lake Odessa, Jeff (Renee) Speas of Lake Odessa, Janneth (James) Hulett Allendale, Beth (Steve) Foltz of Sunfield: Sister, Marcia (Rod) Lake of Lake Odessa and sisters in law, Nancy (Eash) Cook of Wolverine, Joanne (Hall) Speas of Fruitland Park, Florida, Eileen (Red) McIntyre of Okemos, Sharon (Mark) Engle of Battle Creek,Valerie (Ernie) Morgan of Battle Creek, 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A private burial will take place in the Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery, with a public celebration of Nadine’s life to be held at a later date. Online condolences can be given at www.koopsfc.com.
